Is Stan Van Gundy On His Way Out Of Detroit?

A recent article that was written by Mitch Lawrence of the Sporting News, states that "Van Gundy is expected to at least lose his role as team president in Detroit, if not also his coaching duties." This might bring a lot of smiles to Pistons fans who have been patiently waiting like myself, for this team to actually be competetive for the playoffs and actually win a playoff series as well. This is year 4 out of 5 in Van Gundy's contract, and it would not be a shocker at all if team owner Tom Gores decides to eat the last year of the deal to bring in a new voice for this team. I think it shows game in and game out that the players don't always show respect for Van Gundy as he always just puts them down in post game press conferences, and it shows with their lack of effort in a ton of games. It has been rumored that Arn Tellem could be the team's new president, and current general manager Jeff Bower could leave for Charlotte's general manager opening in the offseason. A lot of this depends if the Pistons can get a spot into the playoffs this season or not. If they do, expect Van Gundy to be back for at least one more year, if they miss out, expect him to be relevied of one duty or even both. The time is now for Stan Van Gundy to lead this team in the right direction which is making the postseason. When you have Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin on the same team in the Eastern conference, you should be an almost automatic to make it in. Get it done Van Gundy, or else start packing your bags goodbye!
