The Strokes Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. Preps New Album

New music from the Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. is on the way. The guitarist has announced that his upcoming solo set, "Francis Trouble," will arrive on March 9.

Along with the news of a new solo album, Hammond Jr. has released the album's debut single, "Muted Beatings." Listen to the track below.

"What the music says may be serious, but as a medium it should not be questioned, analyzed or taken too seriously," Hammond Jr. said in a statement. That statement also explains that the album explores his sadness dealing with the stillborn death of his twin bother. "I think it should be tarted up, made into a character, a parody of itself. The music is the mask the message wears and I, the performer, am the message."

The upcoming album is available for pre-order here. XO
